About Us

History
Founded January 2003, the organization represents approximately 130 active pastel artists of all skill levels. SWFPS aims to foster professionalism by providing support to its members through programs and exhibitions, and focus attention to the renaissance of the pastel medium (link), its’ beauty and permanence. SWFPS is a non-profit 501 ©(3) organization governed by a Board of Directors.
In addition to the Board, the SWFPS maintains a number of committees who support the various functions of the society. Members are encouraged to participate in one or more of these committees: fundraising, scholarship, hospitality, “Wild About Pastels”, book discussion, video library, historian, merchandise.
The SWFPS holds monthly meetings (October through June) beginning at 10:00 am where they conduct the business of the society and present a program of interest to pastel artists. Meetings rotate between various cities in Southwest Florida. In addition, fundraisers and special workshops are conducted for our members. Current Calendar
