DON JONES
Don Jones is a mostly self taught artist who paints in pastels, watercolor and oils,
specializing in plein air landscapes and urban scenes.
Don holds a JD degree from the University of Baltimore Law School and an undergraduate degree from Marshall University. He earlier worked in the financial and legal industries. He is a member of the Southwest Florida Pastel Society,
Southeastern Pastel Society, in Atlanta, the Naples Art Association, Art League of Bonita Springs,
Plein Air Florida, the United Arts Council and the Colored Pencil Society of America.
As a plein air artist Don paints the beauty of nature as well as the things we see around us in every day life.
When he paints he seeks to capture both the beauty and the tradition of our South Florida scenes and our great America.
He has exhibited in art centers and galleries throughout Southwest Florida and Georgia. He has won numerous awards, including many first place awards, in both locations. His works have been published in Gulfshore Life magazine, the Johns Creek Georgia Herald and the Arts Council of Southwest Florida magazine. He is the set designer and artist for Children For The Arts. He conducts pastel workshops at the Collier County Library in Naples.
He also conducts weekly plein air outings in Southwest Florida.
