MARIANNE CROWLEY
I have been interested in drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. Educated as a Registered Nurse, I started pursuing my interest in art with classes at the West Hartford, CT Art League and Creative Arts Center in Chatham, Cape Cod Museum of Art and Cape Cod Art Association and Arts Center of Bonita Springs, FL. I have also studied with Deborah Quinn Munson, Jeanne Rosier Smih, and Susan Stranz.
I am fascinated by the color, composition, and contrast inherent in the natural beauty of Cape Cod and coastal Florida and enjoy the opportunity and challenge to depict it on paper or canvas. I think the greatest gift the pursuit of art has given me is the focus a trained eye in composition, color and value gives to my view of the world. I am never at a loss for subject matter!
I am an active juried member of The Cape Cod Art Association, Cape Cod Pastel Society, Marco Island Center For the Arts, and the Southwest Florida Pastel Society. I have won awards at the Creative Arts Center and Yarmouth Art Guild, and Cape Cod Art Association shows, and have paintings in several private collections.
