Patricia Leavitt was born into a family of Maine artists so there were plenty of art supplies on hand to encourage a budding young artist. Patti and her husband, Dana, have lived in Bristol, Maine for 38 years and have three children, two of whom are artists.
Patti is a self taught artist; however, she has done workshops with many master pastelists and oil painters over the last few years. Her loves are portraits, landscapes and seascapes. For many years Patti ran a graphics business where she and her son, John, were the artists on staff. They reproduced their original artwork onto fabric which was then made into household and wearable items. After she sold her business, Patti and her husband moved to Bonita Springs, Florida for the winter months and she became very active in the local art community. Patti is currently the chairperson in charge of hanging the numerous shows that Bonita Art League hosts throughout the year.
Patti is a charter member of the Southwest Florida Pastel Society and a member of the Pastel Painters of Maine. She has won numerous awards for her paintings, including:
