Suzanne G. Bennett

Suzanne G. Bennett. Is an artist who lives in Fort Myers, Florida. Her primary medium is pastel. She began studying pastel

in 2005 with noted pastelist, Sangita Padke. At that time, Suzanne and her family were living in Monmouth County, NJ.

Suzanne grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. Her family greatly encouraged her artistic endeavors. She has degrees from

Rollins College and Parsons School of Design. Suzanne worked as a graphic designer in New York City and

suburban Monmouth County, NJ for many years.

In 2010, Suzanne and her husband moved to Florida. She regularly paints “en plein air.” She has often exhibited in the galleries at Big Arts on Sanibel Island and various other venues on Sanibel. In October 2018, she had an exhibition

at the Founders Gallery, Big Arts called “Passion for Pastels.”

She describes her work as loose and impressionistic. Suzanne has always lived “by the sea” and beaches, waves and reflections on water are frequently her subjects. She finds the brilliance and purity of pastels…those

“chucks of pure pigment” exhilarating.
